Matthea has been helping out with the Baptist Youth
Group since May of 2004, first as a volunteer, and now as the youth
leader. He grew up in Plymouth, Nebraska with his family of seven.
Matthea has one brother, Jesse, and three sisters Mikhaela, Jael, and
Jenna, along with Mikhaela’s husband Heath and their son Brooks.
Although living in a house with six other people was stressful at times,
he considers himself thoroughly blessed by his family.
Matthea is currently attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
majoring in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies. He will
graduate in May of 2008 and will later attend seminary to pursue is
calling as a youth pastor.
In his free time, Matthea enjoys spending time with his wonderful
family and his incredible friends and reading any book he can get his
hands on. He loves to hang out with the youth and is fascinated by
the potential they have to impact this world. He strongly believes
youth are the church, not of the future, but of the present and
therefore need to be encouraged to "Be the Change" in today's culture.
In all of this, Matthea is extremely grateful for the
grace God has displayed in His life, and eagerly anticipates how God will
use Him in the years to come.
