About Our Church

The First Baptist Church in Fairbury was founded July 3, 1870, the Rev. J.N. Webb and eleven other persons met to legally organize the church. The first pastor was the Rev. Mark Noble. Rev. Noble had originally organized the church in May of 1870 and the first services were held in a small building on the north side of the square. First Baptist has seen many changes in buildings, programs and pastors through te years but the task has remained the same. We seek to faithfully express God's redeeming and reconciling love to our community and the world, bringing the message of Jesus Christ.

About the ABC/USA

The congregation is a part of the American Baptist Churches of the USA. The ABC/USA is a group of more than one and a half million Christians who worship in more than 5,700 independent congregations in the United States and Puerto Rico. We are one of the about twenty-five Baptist groups in the USA and we are about fourth in size amount these Baptist groups.

Times and Places

Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30am. A nursery is available for both Sunday School and the Worship service. Our morning begins at 10:15am and is broadcast live on KGMT. See our Services and Times Section for our many activities through out the week.
